ChatGPT Integration

Connect ChatGPT to Tanda as a custom MCP app

Add Tanda to ChatGPT as a custom MCP app, and ChatGPT can read your projects and statements of work, add task items, acceptance criteria and tests, draft SOWs for your approval, point out what isn’t tested yet, and work with requests for change (RFCs) and root cause analyses (RCAs).

Server URL: https://agents.testandaccept.com/mcp Authentication: OAuth. You sign in with your Tanda account; there’s no API key.

Before you start

Custom MCP apps need ChatGPT’s developer mode, which depends on your plan:

Plan What you get
Business, Enterprise, Edu Full MCP, including Tanda’s write tools. An admin or owner enables developer mode for the workspace.
Pro MCP in developer mode is limited to read and fetch, so Tanda’s write tools (creating task items, criteria, tests, SOWs, RFCs and root cause analyses) aren’t available.

Custom MCP apps work on ChatGPT on the web.

Connecting ChatGPT, step by step

  1. Add a custom MCP server

Go to Plugins in ChatGPT (chatgpt.com/plugins), select the + button, then Add custom MCP server.

  2. Fill in the details

    Field Value
    Name Tanda
Description Statements of work, requirements, acceptance criteria and tests in Tanda
Connection Server URL https://agents.testandaccept.com/mcp, including the /mcp path
Authentication OAuth. Leave any client ID and secret fields empty: Tanda registers ChatGPT automatically.

Review the risk warning, select I understand and want to continue, then create the app.

  3. Sign in to Tanda

    A Tanda window opens:

    1. Sign in with Google, GitHub, Microsoft, or email and password.
    2. Approve access. The consent screen lists your organizations; one connection works in all of them. Choose Read to let ChatGPT view your data, and Write to let it create and update it.

ChatGPT then scans Tanda’s tools and lists them.

  4. Use it in a chat

Start a new conversation, type @ in the prompt box, and select Tanda. Then try:

    • “List my Tanda organizations.”
    • “In Acme, list my projects.”
    • “Which acceptance criteria in SOW Website Rebuild have no tests?”

ChatGPT asks you to confirm before it runs a tool that changes data.

Sharing with your workspace

On Business, Enterprise and Edu, an admin or owner can publish the app so everyone can use it: Workspace settings → Apps → Drafts, then Publish. Published apps appear in each person’s Apps settings with the label custom. Each person still signs in with their own Tanda account and sees only what that account can access.

Working with multiple organizations

One connection reaches every Tanda organization you belong to. Name the organization in your request (“In Beta Labs, show the draft SOWs”), using its name or slug, or choose one once with “Work in Beta Labs from now on”: Tanda remembers it for this connection until you change it. If you belong to only one, you never need to name it. Every answer says which organization it came from. See Choosing a default organization for details.

Troubleshooting

Symptom Fix
Write tools are missing or refused On Pro, developer mode only allows read and fetch. On other plans, reconnect and approve Write.
New Tanda tools or changes don’t show up Open the Tanda app under Plugins, select Refresh, then start a new conversation.
Tools return 401 or ChatGPT asks you to sign in again Your Tanda session expired. Reconnect the app and sign in.
Sign-in fails right after creating the app Check that authentication is set to OAuth, with no client ID or secret filled in.
“you belong to several organizations; pass organization to choose one” Name the organization in your request, or say “Work in Acme from now on” to choose it once.
“this connection is limited to …” The app was connected before multi-organization support. Remove it and add it again.
